HDPE & PP COMPOUNDS FOR STEEL PIPE COATING

Coating a steel pipe in plastic can help to prevent or minimize corrosion as a result of extreme external conditions. Plastic coating systems typically consist of three-layers: a fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) applied to the surface of the steel pipe, an adhesive, and a top-coat made from polyolefin materials.

Steel pipe coating industry involves both polypropylene and high density polyethylene (HDPE) top-coats due to higher operating temperatures for pipelines and the industry’s enhanced understanding of crack and resistance needs in extreme climatic conditions.

Moharamplast has developed advanced and proprietary products to address extreme application conditions whether in deserts or arctic regions. These products will increase the integrity and performance of the pipeline and ensure its long term operation.
